FREDERICK MARYLAND BOTTLES

S. SCHLEY & BRO.  FREDERICK MD.

This drug store was originally run by Dr. Fairfax Schley who turned it over to his son Dr Steiner Schley (Sr) 1849-1911 during the civil war.
Dr Schley turned the drug store over to his two sons Steiner (Jr) and Lewis H. in 1876. Lewis was killed in a wreck about a year later but the "& Bro" notation was apparently kept on the bottles out of respect.
The Schley family included many prominent Americans including Admiral Winfield Scott Schley  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winfield_Scott_Schley
