From the Harvard Register pertaining to Sampson Reed ...
Sampson Reed was born West Bridgewater in 1800. He attended the Harvard Divinity School. Initially worked at the W. B. White drug store in 1821 before opening his own a few years later. The firm Reed and Cutler Wholesale Druggists was on Hanover street. He died in 1880.

Reed & Cutler eventually became one of the biggest wholesale druggist in the early 19th century.

William Cutler (1829-1894) was employed at age 14 by Reed & Lowe around 1843. When Lowe retired it became Reed Cutler & Co.
